Reading the site and using the calculators

You can read every article and use every calculator without giving us anything. The calculators run in your browser; the numbers you type stay on your device and in the page address, so you can bookmark them. We do not set advertising or analytics cookies. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and block abuse, under its own privacy policy.

What we collect through the forms

• Adviser matching form: your name, email, optional phone number, ZIP code, investable assets range, how you prefer to pay, what you want help with, and the page you sent it from.
• Adviser listing form: the firm’s name and CRD number, your name, role, work email, optional phone number and message.
• Both forms: a one-way hash of your IP address, your country as reported by Cloudflare, and your browser’s user-agent string. We use these only to stop spam and repeated submissions.

How we use it

• To read your request, choose up to three fee-only advisers from the directory that fit, and email you their details.
• If you ticked the consent box, to share your details with up to three registered investment advisers so they can contact you by email or phone. We share only what you entered on the form.
• To act on listing corrections and requests from advisers.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone other than the advisers you agreed to be introduced to and the service providers below.

Referral fees

An adviser we introduce you to may pay us a referral fee. We tell you when that is the case. A fee never decides which advisers we suggest, and no firm pays to be listed in the directory.

Service providers

• Cloudflare hosts the site and stores form submissions in a database in its network.
• Telegram carries an internal notification to the site owner when a form is submitted.
• Email we send you is delivered by our email provider.

How long we keep it

We keep form submissions for 24 months and then delete them, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Advisers who receive your details under your consent hold them under their own privacy policies, which as registered investment advisers they are required to give you.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to stop contacting you, by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. California residents have the rights set out in the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete and correct; we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change how we use information, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
